David Calleja Car Show, Bacchus Marsh
We are ask to assist at the David Calleja Car Show every year in February.
On Sunday 3rd February 2013 the Lions Club of Melton Team travelled to Bacchus Marsh where for the 5th year in succession, in the beautiful Maddingley Park, the David Calleja Memorial Car Show was held.
The proceeds of the show were in aid of the Djerriwarrh Health Services (i.e. Melton & Bacchus Marsh Hospital).
As much of the preparation took place the previous day in the Melton Lions Den, an early start was made on the Sunday morning so the 3 marquees, the kitchen and the cool room were in place early enough to serve breakfast to the stall holders. The Melton Lions cooked bacon & eggs, sausages and hamburgers, served with a variety of soft drinks.
When the gates opened to the general public at 10am and the cars, trucks, motorbikes all filed in due to the fantastic weather on the day with their vehicles highly polished and preened ready for display .The Lions Club of Melton commenced getting busy and prepared ourselves for the usual lunch time rush which once started lasted until about 3 pm.
It was a glorious day, the weather was perfect and the many hungry patrons who visited our LIONS stand contributed to a very successful and profitable event for the hospital.
Yet another great day assisting our Community !!!
